Privacy Policy

Effective date: May 22, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Viking Barber Studio (“we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and protects information when you visit our website, book an appointment, use our client portal, or communicate with us. By using our website or services, you agree to this Policy.

1. Information We Collect

Information you provide: your name, phone number, email address, appointment details (barber, date, time, services), notes or requests, service preferences, loyalty/referral activity, and optional information you choose to share. We do not collect or store full payment card numbers; payments are processed in person at the shop.

Information collected automatically: basic device and browser information and limited usage data needed to operate the site. Our website stores some information locally on your device (local storage) so the app and your booking work properly. We do not use third-party advertising trackers.

Information from social login (optional): if you choose “Continue with Google” or “Continue with Facebook,” we receive only the basic profile information you authorize (typically your name and email) to help fill out your booking faster.

2. How We Use Your Information

3. Text Messaging (SMS)

By providing your mobile number and opting in, you consent to receive transactional text messages (such as appointment confirmations, reminders, and updates) from Viking Barber Studio. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. You can opt out at any time by replying STOP; reply HELP for help. Consent to receive text messages is not a condition of any purchase.

We do not sell or share your mobile phone number or your SMS opt-in/consent information with third parties or affiliates for their marketing purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent are not shared with any third party except the messaging provider that helps us deliver the messages.

4. Email Communications

If you provide your email, we may send appointment confirmations and reminders. You can opt out of non-essential emails at any time by following the unsubscribe instructions or contacting us.

5. Service Providers We Use

We rely on trusted third-party providers to operate our services, and we share only the information necessary for them to perform their function. These currently include providers for website/database hosting (Supabase), text messaging (Twilio), email delivery (Resend), and optional social sign-in (Google, Meta/Facebook). Each provider processes data under its own privacy terms. We do not authorize them to use your information for their own marketing.

6. Cookies & Local Storage

We use local storage and similar technologies only to make the website and booking function properly (for example, remembering your language or your saved booking details). We do not use them for third-party advertising.

7. Data Retention

We keep your information for as long as needed to provide our services and maintain our business records, and as required by law. You may request that we delete your information, subject to legal and legitimate business requirements.

8. Your Choices & Rights

You may request to access, correct, or delete your personal information, and you may opt out of marketing communications at any time. To make a request, contact us at the phone or email above. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under applicable privacy laws. We do not sell your personal information.

9. Children’s Privacy

Our website and booking are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Appointments for minors should be booked by a parent or legal guardian. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

10. Data Security

We take reasonable measures to protect your information. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. You use the website and services at your own risk.

11. Third-Party Links

Our website may link to third-party sites or services (for example, maps or social media). We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of those third parties.

12. Disclaimers & Limitation of Liability

The website and online booking are provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis, without warranties of any kind. Appointments are subject to availability and confirmation, and an online request does not guarantee a reservation until confirmed by us. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Viking Barber Studio is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the website, the booking system, or any text/email notifications, including delays, errors, or non-delivery of messages.

13. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. Changes are effective when posted on this page with a new effective date. Your continued use of our website or services means you accept the updated Policy.

14. Governing Law

This Policy is governed by the laws of the State of North Carolina, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules.
